Concept ON

ON is an electric Vertical TakeOff and Landing virtual vehicle model.

It is capable to takeoff and landing on man-made runway surfaces and natural surface such a gravel, rock, ice, grass, send, salt or water.

The vehicle offers space for two passengers and is designed to act semi-autonomously on given passenger commands.

In terms on the environment, the vehicle should generates acceptable noise pollution and zero exhaust emissions.

ON is a vehicle with distributed electrical propulsion system consisting of eight hubless motors and twelve contra-rotating rim driven turbine with variable-pitch blades distributed in four separate units.

Two 3D thrust vectoring axisymmetric nozzles give the vehicle stability in order to act optimally in a given environment with unknown dynamics.
The vehicle structure is mostly design from pre-preg carbon fiber composite materials that are optimized over material distribution and fiber orientation. Overall, the result is a balanced weight/strength ratio structure that ensures predictable aeroelasticity.

The control surfaces consist of the retractable empennage and folding wings that rotate over the vehicle thrust units, which are also the mechanism’s hinges. With this mechanism, the vehicle’s center of gravity can be steered into the desired position.

The vehicle is equipped with robotic landing gear for safe landing on an uneven surface.
